Digicel Bermuda Completes Acquisition Of BTC
Digicel Bermuda today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Bermuda Telephone Company [BTC].
Digicel Bermuda CEO, Robin Seale, said, “This is an exciting time for Digicel Bermuda and BTC as together we are better positioned to serve our customers across Bermuda.”
“With the acquisition now complete, we are even further committed to delivering the best value, service and network on the island while expanding our suite of products and services to offer a larger portfolio to our customers.”
“Digicel is already heavily investing in increasing the capacity of our service and the acquisition of BTC will provide the framework to broaden that even further; growing our business, creating more jobs and investing in the future of Bermuda’s communications industry.”
“We look forward to working with BTC and its employees.”
We look forward to some real broadband speeds. 25Mb as the fastest offering for a country that pays the most on earth for internet is embarrassing and a rip off! Get your product together and take care of your customers. That is to all the ISP”s here. We have paid an arm, leg, and foot long enough!!
The price is going down???…do tell
I quote: “Digicel is already heavily investing in increasing the capacity of our service and the acquisition of BTC will provide the framework to broaden that even further; growing our business, creating more jobs and investing in the future of Bermuda’s communications industry.”
No complaints from the Progressive Labour Party on “foreign ownership” with Bermudian fronting.:-( And yes, I’d see they’d stated, “creating more jobs.”
The new jobs come from the influx of foreigners then the displacement of locals, see Digicel Bermuda
Have they ever revealed how much they paid. They should be required to do so, if they haven’t done so already. It goes to show, Digicel are making a mint off Cell Phone fanatics.
Will be interesting to see how Digicel deal with the unionized BTC workers.
They are noted for breaking unions in most of their Caribbean markets.
