Video: Dante Leverock Featured On US News
Bermuda footballer Dante Leverock, who is currently playing his first season with the Harrisburg City Islanders in Pennsylvania, was recently featured by the area’s ABC 27 television station.
The piece highlights Mr. Leverock’s unique path to Harrisburg, with his professional time in the city preceded by a stint at the Islanders Youth Academy program when he was 11-years-old. His return to Harrisburg has been successful, with the footballer notching his first goal in a match in April 2015.
Relating his experience as an 11-year-old in the youth academy, Mr. Leverock tells ABC, “It was a little nerve-wracking; it was the first time I was away from my mum – I’m a big mama’s boy.
“It was a new experience playing abroad and I had to adjust quickly, but as soon as I had a ball at my feet, I was fine.”
Go for the “Gusto” Mr. Dante Leverock! An example of what one can achieve when applying determination, perseverance. As we say, “keeping an eye on the sparrow.”
Excellect job Danté!! Keep making your island proud!
