Dante Leverock Scores First Professional Goal

Bermuda’s Dante Leverock made an impressive start to his professional football career with the Harrisburg City Islanders, scoring in last night’s [Apr 24] 1-1 draw with Charlotte Independence.

Charlotte scored first in the 19th minute to gain a 1-0 lead, however Harrisburg evened the score in the 57th minute of a header from the corner by Dante Leverock. The draw brings Harrisburg City Islanders record to 1-2-1 and bumps the team up to eighth in the USL Eastern Conference standings.

This was the first professional goal for Leverock, who plays for Bermuda internationally and scored in the first game against the Bahamas last month.

Posting on Twitter, the young footballer said “Feels great to score my first Professional goal for City Islanders, tough point on the road but onto the next game.”

Leverock and the Pennsylvania-based Harrisburg City Islanders next game will be against the Wilmington Hammerheads next Saturday at 7.00pm.
