Yumm! Looks like a lot of fun. unfortunately I will not be able to make it due to a few reasons. I know some fellow BBIRYC members would be up for the challenge but alas, I have been demoted to the Sparkling Water Fest!

    • #whipped says:

Yes yes, now life is so much different, no longer sponsored by Amsterdam.

  2. Skink says:

    Sum hot chicks der!!!…….#lively #blessupbermy

  3. Micro says:

Wheres the handsome men for the ladies tho?

  4. BermudaRat says:

Just why is Bermie Beer Fest being held on Horseshoe Bay which is a public beach where NO alcohol is supposed to be served ….except the beach house which has a license and presumably some controls about alcohol being taken onto the beach.
Bermudians fought three court cases and won three court cases to keep alcohol off Horseshoe Bay, the one beach where there are lifeguards and where parents have traditionally allowed their teenagers to go there alone with some safety.
Just where were those alcohol age checks today?
And just how did everyone at the Beer Fest get home today, CADA? Sure on their bikes and cars. Really why do we tolerate this?

    • Paul Revere says:

Did you ever sit n think who the sponsors of such events are?

    • Rock watcher says:

Why just let them have fun. Because of people like you this island will never grow with the times…this has been the best weekend in history of Bermuda. I did not partake but I saw how everyone black blue white red any nationality but mainly BERMUDIANS having a great safe time… PARTY BERMUDA LIKE THERE IS NO TOMORROW …great job OBA

      • frank says:

This weekends events were not put on by the oba or the tourism authority

        • Trulytruly says:

Oh boy you’re wrong. The heroes weekend events is a signature tourism experience sponsored by the BTA. Not the beer festival though. The BTA an OBA creation made a great decision in sponsoring the fantastic 4 days of non stop partying. Bermuda has never seen anything like it. Along with the many other activities it was the busiest weekend in Bermuda’s history. A taste of the America’s Cup festivities.

      • sage says:

You are right there, alcohol soaked, “party like there is no tomorrow”, excellent example for our youth and a great way forward for the country, great work distracting the sheeple OBA!

    • gco says:

Move out of the dark ages and into the future! We need to move with the times. I am not a drinker but if this is what the public/tourists want give it to them. Just be a responsible drinker!

    • Holly says:

As a matter of fact there were age checks. Everyone got ID’d and given a wrist band to show that they were of age. Stop being so damn negative you “rat” and lighten up. No alcohol is supposed to be on front street being served yet it wad in light of carnival weekend. So take a chill pill, enjoy the sights and have a damn drink to cool your a** down.

    • sage says:

Are you kidding me? They sell liquor at horseshoe bay everyday from a pop up tent in front the beach house, why, because we are the capital of hypocrisy.

    • Moojun says:

Because since we instigated this puritanical control over what people can do on public beaches, we have witnessed a dramatic decline in our visitor arrivals, and then had the gall to complain about it.

Bermuda became the resort of ‘No’ and the tourists simply moved on to the resorts that said ‘Ýes’.

Tourist Resort lesson 101 for those who may have missed it back in the late 80′s; people relaxing on holiday would like to enjoy a responsible alcoholic drink on beautiful beaches, that’s part of the (sub-)tropical destination appeal. It’s also part of what put us on the tourist destination map originally.

Look, the bottom line is this, there are plenty of beaches in Bermuda. If you don’t like seeing young people having fun while drinking alcohol for this one weekend, then go to another beach. Warwick Long Bay, Chaplin’s, Cooper’s Island, Church Bay, Shelly Bay, Tobacco Bay…. surely in this day and age we can all accommodate each others wishes when it comes to one off events.

    • Ameboa says:

You are spot on. NOT. Guess you have your head buried in the sand. Like how many functions have been held at horseshoe since the beginning of time? This years event was barricaded ofF for one and there was one point of sales with everyone within view of the other where alcohol was being sold. Reading your statement you was definitely not there and even if someone had told you, you would still be clueless. Todays event was successful and ended without incident. Locals, Tourist and Guest Workers had a BLAST …… now go say that in court.

    • zahh says:

Shut up seriously. Did nothing bad happrn at all yesterday at beer fest. No fights just pure clean fun. No one was served bottles except for the people who brought their own bottles. It’s nothing we can do about it. Don’t bring ya negative unhappy self on these comments when people just wanna live and have fun. Not everyday us BERMUDIANS get together and loosen up.

  5. Vice Commodore of BBIRYC Double Seven Single Niner says:

Double M Four Twos. I should have been there today. Ashame Commodore JB dropped the ball on this, he should have sponsored it as it looks like we could have recruited for his party yacht.
BermudaRat. You can have booze on a beach. Public street is where you can’t have booze. You seem to be anti-fun.

  6. Oh,I see now says:

I would have to agree with BermudaRat it sure does send out mixed messages.

  7. Mrs Green says:

The entire weekend offered no real family events. Sad really.

    • Time Shall Tell says:

      @ Mrs Green

The ‘Pan in the Park’ take place in Victoria Park on June 14, the National Heroes Induction Ceremony took place in the Square in St.George’s on June 14, the Bermuda Pow Wow took place in St.David’s Cricket Club field on June 13 and 14, the Guatemala vs Bermuda World Cup qualifying campaign took place at the National Stadium on June 15. I am also sure if you would of put even the slightest effort to check you would of found a number of other family friendly events that took place over this holiday weekend.

      • Mrs Green says:

Overshadowed by Bermuda and who love to drink.

      • Seriously says:

Don’t forget the Comet Race that happens every year and the queens birthday celebration that took place at nationals. Oh wait a minute; the kids took place in track and field Friday evening.

    • Happy says:

@ Mrs. Green, there was a BIG family Community day event at Shelly Bay yesterday put on by the Crawl Hill Seventh Day Adventist Church which was a well attended! Lost of things were free there as well. I guess you missed that one!

    • Trulytruly says:

Filipino Cultural Festival all day at BAA was great family friendly event attended by hundreds. I guess you missed that one too.

  8. Idabe says:

    BermudaRat….. unhappy much?????

Someone always has to complain #getoverit

    • BermudaRat says:

There can be different points of view about fun. Horseshoe Bay during
Bermie Beer Fest was not fun for those families who took children to the beach yesterday. Horseshoe Bay during Bermie Beer Fest was not fun yesterday for many of the visitors who went to there to enjoy what they thought would be the serenity of a Bermuda beach.

      • Trulytruly says:

There are many other beautiful quiet beaches to go to instead of horseshoe for just one day. Loosen up.

  9. Are you kidding me? says:

    @Bermuda Rat.
    Get a life….

  10. RME says:

A beer fest?? Promoters advertising “beautiful ladies” and “lots of bikinis”. Really, Bermuda? Is THIS the best we can do?

  11. Huh says:

    MAEDI GRAS next!!
