Smith & Olcheski-Bell Win Tokio Triathlon Race

Tyler Smith and Martina Olcheski-Bell are the 2015 Tokio Millenium Re Triathlon male and female champions.

16 year old Smith continued his impressive season, which has seen him qualify for the 16 – 19 Junior Elite World Championships, as he dominated the field from the start to win by three and a half minutes clocking a time of 1:01:36.

Jonathan Herring held off a strong challenge from Matthew Oliveira to finish 2nd clocking a time of 1:04:38 and Oliveira finished third with a time of 1:04:49.

Olcheski – Bell finished 9th overall clocking a time of 1:11.25. Erica Hawley, exited the water with just over a minute’s lead over Olcheski-Bell with Amber Mehta a further 30 seconds behind Olcheski Bell.

Hawley was the second Female finisher to cross the line clocking a time of 1:13:28 which put her 14th overall and Mehta rounded out the top three Female finishers crossing the line 17th overall in a time of 1:14:17.

The Butterfield and Vallis team of Chris Hands, Mark Lombardi and Spencer Butterfield crossed the line first to win the Male Team Title, while the Bicycle Works team of Belinda Castree, Wenda Roberts and Zoey Roberts were the first Female Team, whilst the Mixed Team event was won by the Tokio team of Flora Duffy, Mark Booth and Corey Brunton.

Liz Jordan won the Tri a Tri event in an All-Female field.
