Junior Squash Team To Compete In Barbados
On Thursday July 16th, the Bermuda Junior National Team will be travelling to Bridgetown, Barbados to compete in the 2015 Junior Caribbean Championships.
The team members are:
- Boys Under 19: Kion Knights, Dylan Muldoon
- Girls Under 19: Susanna Armano, Tiye Williams
- Boys Under 17: Dylan Pratt
- Girls Under 17: Madeleine Rose
- Boys Under 15: Taylor Carrick
- Girls Under 15: Charlotte Toogood
- Boys Under 13: Charlie Riker
- Girls Under 13: Abigail Brewer
The individual event will take place from July 18th to 20th. Notable players to watch out for are Abigail Brewer, who is seeded #1 in the Girls Under 13 category, Charlotte Toogood who is seeded to reach the semifinals in Girls Under 15, and Kion Knights who is competing in his last Junior CASA and is seeded 5/8 in the Boys Under 19.
The team event will run from July 20th to 22nd, and the participating countries are: Bermuda, Barbados, Cayman Islands, OECS, Guyana, Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago.
National Team Coach, Runa Reta, commented: “The team has been training very hard in the last two months in very hot court conditions. They are in good physical shape and ready to be a competitive force in this event. We are looking for some strong results in both individuals and teams, especially from our younger players who are proving to be quite a talented bunch”.
