Man Injured In Fire On Jennings Bay Road
At 2:11 am this morning [July 3] the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service [BFRS] responded to a report of a confirmed fire on Jennings Bay Road, Southampton.
Fire Service spokesperson Sergeant Jamal Albuoy said, “BFRS responded to a confirmed fire with one appliance from our Port Royal Station and four personnel.
“On arrival, smoke and flames were emitting from the upper unit of a two storey dwelling. Firefighters dressed in breathing apparatus manned with a fire hoseline entered the unit and quickly brought the fire under control.
“At 2:23 am the fire was fully extinguished. The fire was contained to one room with heat and smoke damage to the remainder of the premise.
“A single [male] occupant sustained burn injuries to his hands and was transported to KEMH via ambulance for additional medical treatment. At this time, his injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
“Our Fire Investigator Officers are currently on scene to determine the cause of the fire”.
