Woman Pleads Guilty To Causing GBH By Driving

Appearing in Magistrates Court today [July 24], 71-year-old Maria Rego plead guilty to causing grievous bodily harm a man as a result of her driving without due care on the morning of June 1, 2015.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo was told by the Crown Prosecutor that Ms. Rego was turning right into Kilderry Lane off Middle Road in Smith’s when her car collided with the man.

The man suffered a broken nose, rib fracture, a punctured lung, and abrasions on his face, legs, and arms.

The Magistrate fined Ms. Rego $800 and disqualified her from driving all vehicles for two years.
