Pacers Track Club Fly To Compete In Canada

This weekend 19 members of the Bermuda Pacers Track Club will compete in the 5th Annual Flying Angels International Track Classic at the Terry Fox Stadium in Chinguacousy Park, in Ontario Canada. The team will be leaving today [July 2] and will return on Tuesday, July 7, 2015.

The track meet will take place on Saturday, July 4th and Sunday July 5th, 2015 starting at 9:00am. The track club will be making their second appearance at this prestigious track meet that attracts over 500 athletes from the United States and the Caribbean area.

A spokesperson said, “The team will compete in 58 individual events one 4X100 metre relay and one sprint medley relay. The teams consist of many of the club’s younger runners that will be making their first appearance at an international track.

“In the 8 and under age group, we will have Chole Botelho, Jaden Cartwright and Jace Donawa who will compete in the 100, 200 and long jump.

“In the 9 and 10 age group, Dhulche DeSilva, Sa’ Maya Lightbourne, Ramiah Brangman, Rajai Whitter, Jesse Johnson and J’auza James will either compete in the 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500 metres and long jump.

“In the 11 and 12 age group, we will have Sanaa Rae Morris, Katurah Bulford Trott, Satasia Swann, Kyasia Simmons, Kaylin Davy, Amber Simons, Miniya Wainwright, Dequan Trott and Lorrin Butterfield that will compete in either 100, 200, 400 metres, 800 metres and long jump.

“The senior member of the team is Taylor Hines who will compete in the 13-14 girls division in the 100, 200, 400 and long jump.
