Sand Sculpture Competition At Horseshoe Bay
The Department of Youth, Sport and Recreation today [Aug 27] announced that the 20th annual Bermuda Sand Sculpture Competition will take place on September 5 at Horseshoe Bay Beach.
On August 29 and September 4, there will be one hour sand sculpture clinics held at Horseshoe Bay Beach at 4.00pm and 6.00pm.
Director of Youth, Sport and Recreation Norbert Simons said, “The Bermuda Sand Sculpture competition started 20 years ago by the Institute of Bermuda Architects and is spearheaded by Ms. Nicky Gurret. This event has grown in participation and has proven to be a very popular weekend of fun for everyone.
“If you haven’t participated or want to learn about the tips, tools and techniques of sand sculpting, we encourage you to come to one of the clinics prior to the competition.”
The Bermuda International Sand Sculpture Competition will take place on September 5 at Horseshoe Bay Beach, Southampton from 10.00am to 4.00pm. Prizes will be awarded for amateur sand sculptors and include monetary awards for winners in each category.
