Court: 61-Yr-Old Man Disqualified From Driving

August 5, 2015

Appearing in Magistrates Court, 61-year-old Gerald Barstow was disqualified from driving all vehicles for 18 months, bailed for $1,500, and must return to court in September to be sentenced after pleading guilty to six traffic offences, all on January 25, 2015.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo warned him could attract fines around $2,000 total, and noting that he was unemployed and therefore unlikely to be able to pay any fines at all, the Magistrate told Mr Barstowe that he was considering a sentence of Community Service in place of fines.

Questioned by Mr Barstowe, the Magistrate said that Community Service meant that Mr Barstowe would be required to do unpaid work.
