Pilot Gig Club Of Bermuda Holds Inaugural Event
The newly formed Pilot Gig Club of Bermuda held its inaugral main event on the first day of Cup Match as two teams raced the three-quarter mile long course in Ferry Reach, with a trophy presentation taking place last night [Aug 10] for the winning boat and pilot, with St George’s claiming the title.
A spokesperson previously said, “The Gig Club hopes to make this an annual event and encourages any early birds and enthusiast to line the shores of Ferry Reach with whistles and colors to cheer there Team Boat on.
“The Gig Club is open to new members; rowing teams can be made up of men and or women, young and young at heart, including individuals, associations, and organizations. Fun for family and friends, the Pilot Gigs can be seen in action in St. Georges Harbour or at the East End Mini Yacht Club.”
“The aim of the Bermuda Club is to encourage persons to come to learn the art of rowing the Pilot Gig and row for health with a view that one day they can compete in overseas Gig rowing competitions.”

Why did the Mayor of St George not acknowledge whilst past oba member of parliament and family was seated? totally disrespectful.
The re-enactment was good. but why the Mayor and CJ were not seated?
It is because back then, being Black, they would of had to stand?
