Photos: Group Cleans Up North Shore Area
A group recently got together to clean up the North Shore area of Constituency #18 Pembroke West Central, leading to a truck hauling a load of overgrowth away.
Nick Kempe said, “We had ten people out and, in less than two hours, achieved very satisfying results. Before the corner was very low visibility and bus passengers had to stand in the road in order to be seen; we ended up hauling a dump truck load of overgrowth to Marsh Folly.”
.
“Participants included Kenneth and Roberto Dill, Andrea Smith, St. Clair Pitt, Jerome Lindsay, Cathy Carreiro, Kristiana Smith, Jules Gunther, Georgenna Wilson and myself,” added Mr Kempe.
“Thank you to all that were able to make it out. This is a great initiative that came out of our meeting on Thursday. For those that couldn’t make it, we hope to see you at the next one.
“With two hours and ten people we managed to reclaim a part of our neighbourhood. We will definitely be making this a monthly event. Feel free to send me ideas for future community improvement or to provide feedback on how to improve.”

Determination a perseverance can work wonders. As for suggestions, when cleaning the roads of brush why not take the brush etc. from their roots? It’ll prevent the brush / cane-grass etc. from returning too quickly.
Don’t you worry – we hacked that cane grass out with a hoe, roots and all!
“Job well done” is all one can say
Awesome job to this group. What a great change.
im been standing there every morning for the bus and you mean to tell me there was a bench there all that time?
Awesome. Well done to everybody involved.
You can sit back…..march and complain or you can get the job done yourself. I wonder how many of the folks that did the cleanup actually live in the area? Interesting. Great Work!!!!
All of us folks there on Saturday live in the area – neighbours helping neighbours
@Mike all us live in the neighbourhood. 90 minutes, once a month can make an impact on our surroundings and doesn’t ruin anyone’s Saturday. I hope to see this initiative grow. Small projects, big impact!
subliminal message from OBA asking Bermudians to clean your roads?
Just can’t do something positive on the down low can you ? Anyway thanks for the cleaning and the cutting and hauling !
