Photos & Video: Causeway BBQ Throwdown
Selena’s Annual Causeway BBQ Throw Down & Block Party was held today [Sept 6] on Kindley Field in St George’s, and saw hundreds of people attend to enjoy the event and taste the BBQ fare.
Barbecue enthusiasts, many previous year participants, converged upon the East End to earn trophies and barbecue bragging rights at the annual contest.
The day’s activities started at 9.00am and included a hot wing eating contest, BBQ contest, a pie eating competition, a DJ playing music, free fun slides, free fun castles, the introduction of the “BBQ Causeway Run” and more.

Hot food, refreshments and snowballs were available along with other vendors. The public had an opportunity to taste test items from the competitors and then vote for the People’s Choice Awards. A new category was added to the annual line up allowing people to enter the best hot and tasty wings.
