Registration Opens For KPMG Training Sessions
KPMG is inviting the public to attend one of their 2015 AML / ATF training sessions specifically designed for Registered Charities in Bermuda.
“Section 8 of the Charities Act [AML/ATF and Reporting] Regulations 2014 requires every Registered Charity to take appropriate measures to ensure all its relevant offices understand the law relating to money laundering and terrorist financing and are regularly are provided training in how to recognise and deal with transactions which may be related to money laundering or terrorist financing,” the company said.
“The KPMG training sessions being offered are designed to meet this regulatory requirement, and provide training to relevant offices focused on delivering practical guidance on how to implement the new AML regulatory requirements.
“All relevant offices of a Registered Charity required to be provided training, so who are relevant officers of a Charity? Relevant offices will likely include executive directors, board members, compliance staff and volunteers or charities staff involved in soliciting, accepting or processing of donations, or other receipts or payments on behalf of the Charity.
“The KPMG training sessions will cover topics ranging from what is money laundering and terrorist financing, how to conduct an AML/ ATF risk assessment, key AML program requirements, donor and customer on-boarding & “know your client” [KYC] requirements, transaction monitoring requirements, reporting and record-keeping requirements and how to implement an AML / ATF compliance program.
The training sessions will be held at KPMG’s office on Par-la-Ville Road, Hamilton:
- Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 12:45pm- 2:00pm
- Wednesday, October 21, 2015 from 12:45pm- 2:00pm
