Monday Bank Hours Changed Due To Hurricane

[Updated] Bermuda’s banks will see their hours affected tomorrow [Oct 5] due to Hurricane Joaquin, with the Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son Limited to reopen at 11.00am, and Clarien Bank Limited and the Bermuda Commercial Bank [BCB] to reopen at 12.00pm, assuming all premises are safe for customers and employees following the storm’s passing.

A spokesperson for the Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son said, “The Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son Limited advises customers that it plans to reopen its Banking Centres and offices at 11.00am tomorrow, Monday, 5 October 2015 following the passing of Hurricane Joaquin [provided roads are safely passable and that its premises are safe for customers and employees].”

A spokesperson for Clarien Bank said, “Clarien Bank Limited will tentatively resume post-storm operations on Monday, 5 October at noon, pending final facility and system assessments. Updates regarding the resumption of normal business operations will be communicated once all assessments are complete to ensure the safety and security of Clarien customers and employees.

A spokesperson for BCB said, “Please be advised that due to the arrival of Hurricane Joaquin, Bermuda Commercial Bank will tentatively resume normal business operations on Monday, October 5th at 12:00pm AST pending facility and system assessments.

“The Bank will update this message should any further disruptions arise. We hope everyone in Bermuda is staying safe.”

Update Oct 5, 10.22am: Clarien Bank has confirmed that it will resume normal operations at 12.00pm today [Oct 5].

A spokesperson said, “Clarien Bank Limited will resume post-storm operations at noon today, 5 October. Both the Hamilton and Paget branch locations will open for normal business transactions at that time.

“Final post-storm assessments have been completed, and the safety and security of all facilities and systems have been confirmed.

“Clarien employees are asked to report to Clarien in preparation for a 12 noon opening today as your personal circumstances permit. If you have concerns regarding your availability, please advise your immediate supervisor or manager.
