A spokesperson said, “The Ministry of Public Works would like to inform motorists of the following road closure; Blackwatch Pass, Pembroke, from the junction North Shore Road to the junction at Marsh Folly Road.

“The road closure is necessary to allow for road improvements to take place at the junction of North Shore Road and Blackwatch Pass.

“This road closure is effective all day commencing on Thursday, October 8 and will continue until Thursday, October 15, 2015.

“If there is inclement weather on these schedule dates, the work will continue on the following week. Every effort will be made to open this road as quickly as possible.

“All traffic including buses and pedestrians will not be permitted to travel along Blackwatch Pass while this work takes place due to safety.

“The Department of Public Transportation would like to advise the public that route 11 buses traveling toward the city of Hamilton will take Langton Hill. All route 11 buses traveling from the city will use Berkeley Hill Road.

“The inbound and outbound bus stops at the Government Tennis Stadium will be closed for the duration of the road works. Passengers waiting for the bus should use the bus stops on St. John’s Road near the St. John’s Anglican Church instead.

“We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause.”

In other countries dozens of miles of roadway is laid in a matter of days

  2. Shell says:

Remind me not to drive On Langton Hill or Berkeley Road. I almost get squished by buses every day just taking the corner at Admiralty House/North Shore junction. Would love to see some of these corners widened.

That same boy is still sitting there? He better get to school…

  4. Mister Mole says:

Who writes these things? So Blackwatch Pass will be closed for a week, and we get less than a one-day notice?

If this project was planned properly, a road closure notice could have been given with plenty of warning.

    • Hurricane says:

Oh please @ Mister Mole, I do understand that often more notice is given, but how much notice does one really need. When and if you get there in the morning, think of it as a serious accident there and go around.

  5. somuchless says:

Gov says one day. We know it’ll be 7 months lol

  6. Caramel says:

    To the Workmen,

With the structure being unsafe for walkers and motorists, we ask that all the workmen be safe. We appreciate the improvements being made but please be careful!

  8. 3rdeye says:

Sorry to say but the new layout looks more confusing.

  9. Y-Gurl says:

It’s taken these clowns an eternity to get this far, this project is yet another embarrassment for Bermuda, not even sure why it’s needed, I think they dream stupidness up to give themselves work, how about we the taxpayers get a list of the cost of these ridicule projects it would be great to see the costs

  10. Raymond Ray says:

Since the road will be closed, why not tackle the cliffs on either side of Blackwatch Pass? Now would be a great time to increase the amount of men working in the area and complete some of the extremely serious problems.

    • drunken ursula says:

hey Ray talk with your exclusive country club boys… about your idea?

More recently seen a bridge over a Maryland river built faster.

  13. Hurricane says:

@ C-Mart, what exactly is your point? It sounds as though you are saying that this work which is seen to be improvements shouldn’t be carried out because of where you are located. Please elaborate?

    • smh says:

@Hurricane it sounds to me that you are unable to read and Understand!

      • Hurricane says:

@smh, you get an A for understanding, but how long did it take you to figure out that I read what C-Mart said and I really don’t understand what they are trying to say. That I admitted;thus my question to them…….duhhhhhh

  14. Rock Watcher says:

Well I guess C-Mart is just making the point that it is taking a long time to do a simple job!!!
Why are they reclaiming land on the north side of the road at that junction when right across the road is an area of flat ground on Govt property which is used for nothing but growing grass!!
No wonder Govt has no money!

  15. While on subject of repears why start in the Towne Hall in St. Geo?

  16. SoFar Bie says:
