Barclay Simmons Resigns From BMA Board

The Bermuda Monetary Authority today [Oct 29] announced that E. Barclay Simmons resigned from its Board of Directors effective 25th October 2015.

Chairman of the Authority’s Board of Directors, Gerald Simons, thanked Mr. Simmons for his nearly nine-year tenure at the Authority.

“Mr. Simmons joined the Board in January 2007,” Mr. Simons said.

“He chaired the Board’s Investment Committee which is responsible for ensuring the prudent investment of the Authority’s portfolio of assets and he was a member of the Board’s Corporate Governance & Ethics Committee.”

Mr. Simmons, who is also the Managing Partner of ASW Law, resigned from the Board upon assuming increased responsibilities at one of the Authority’s licensed entities.
