Tennis Championships Prize Money Corrected
Following their initial statement about the Bermuda Clay Court Championships which said the men’s winner will receive $3,000, while the women’s winner will receive $750, the organisers said both the men’s and women’s winners will receive $2,000 each, and the original statement was incorrect.
The follow up statement from the organisers said, “Due to a communications error, this week’s announcement of prize money for the Bermuda Clay Court Championships was incorrect.
“The statement said the winner of the Men’s Open Singles category would receive $3,000 and the Men’s Open Singles runner-up would receive $1,000 while the Women’s Open Singles winner would receive $750 and the Women’s Runner-Up would receive $250.
“In fact, the Men’s and Women’s Open Singles winners will receive $2,000 each and the runners-up will receive $500 each.
“Coral Beach & Tennis Club and the tournament committee of the Bermuda Clay Court Championships regret any confusion this may have caused and looks forward to strong entries in the tournament in both the Men’s and Women’s categories.
“The entry deadline for the tournament is Sunday, October 18th.”
