Hamilton Insurance Group, a Bermuda-based holding company of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance operations, has announced the names of the Bermuda registered non-profit organizations that received funding from the company during 2015.

During quarterly meetings, members of the company’s Community Giving Committee approved funding for The Adult Education School, Bermuda Foundation of Insurance Studies, Bermuda Hockey Federation, Bermuda School of Music, Bermuda Sloop Foundation, Chain Reaction, Impact Mentoring Academy, Kaleidoscope Arts Foundation, Raleigh International [Bermuda], SCARS, and WindReach.

“We are very pleased to support these fine organizations, who are all doing important work in our community,” said Committee Chair and Hamilton Re CFO Vanessa Hardy Pickering.

“The focus of our committee’s giving is to contribute to the wellbeing of Bermuda’s families. By funding educational, arts, sports and social programmes, we believe we are offering our young people the opportunity for well-rounded growth and development.

“We congratulate the Board members, staff and volunteers involved with these non-profits, and commend them for their commitment to our Island.”

As an initiative separate from the grants awarded by the Community Giving Committee, Hamilton’s employees in Bermuda chose the SPCA and Masterworks as recipients of funds raised at their annual holiday party in December. Employee donations were matched by the company.

Hamilton employees also participated in The Centre on Philanthropy’s corporate Give Back Games, choosing the BSMART Development Foundation to receive funds donated as a result of the team’s participation.
