BFRS Extinguish Fire At Southampton Home
At approximately 1:51pm on Sunday [Feb 14], the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to a report of a residence which was involved in fire on St. Anne’s Road, Southampton.
Fire Service spokesperson, Sergeant Russann Francis said, “The Fire Service responded to a report of confirmed smoke and flames issuing from a lower apartment.
“On our arrival there was visible smoke seen emitting from a vent on the front of the structure. Two firefighters dressed in breathing apparatus and equipped with a 1½” hose line entered the premises to extinguish the fire. Firefighters confirmed that all persons were out of the home prior to entering the premises.
“The quick action of the five personnel on scene helped to contain the fire to the lower level. The dwelling sustained extensive heat and smoke damage throughout. At present the fire is under investigation.”
