This looks like the end of the high speed chase that I saw on the way home this evening. Guy was being chased by one police bike with another close behind – must have been doing close to 100km/h if not more. Unfortunately this ending was inevitable – the guy was clearly intent on not being caught and had zero regard for anyone else on the road. Almost nailed multiple cars/bikes in the Paget traffic light area, didn’t even think about slowing down. Lucky he didn’t kill someone. Idiot.

    • Awake says:

That’s exactly who it is. People like this fool need a mandatory five years behind bars! He could have seriously injured or even killed numerous people along the way!

      • true picture says:

I saw a guy riding one of those model bikes (white) riding like he was being chased an Harbor Road doing some seriously dangerous overtaking!

    • Awake says:

With all due respect, the circumstances ARE known. He should have thought of his mom before he decided to act the fool. Nevertheless, I hope he’ll be ok. It sure could have turned out much differently for numerous other people who were driving/riding responsibly while he chose to disregard their safety.

    • Hurricane says:

@ St Kool in the incident you describe, it sounds to me like the police were clearly intent on catching this guy and had zero regard for anyone else on the road as well. This needs to STOP, idiots!

  2. Crazy says:

Despite the circumstances – praying for the rider and all those involved. Take responsibility of your life on the roads Bermuda.

    • Food says:

Why? Why shouldn’t the rider take responsibility for the consequences of his actions? If he injured or killed your daughter because of this, would you be saying the same? If he lives, sling him inside and trash the key. He he doesn’t, ah well.

      • CALLITHOWISEEIT says:

SMH at your mindset! OK he may have been totally wrong for his actions but who are you to say if he is killed oh well? this is someones loved one just as you all have loved ones. Now I dont Know who this gentleman is but by no means would I wish bad will to anyone thats the problem with us Bermudians these days ; this definetly isnt the same Bermuda and i am only in my 30′s the alder bermudians say this that and the other about our generation but then the things that come out of your mouths dont make matters better. Hope all parties involved are ok and its a Blessing noone was injured ; i pray this young man learns from his actions.

  3. dell says:

    I hope he is ok

Let’s just reflect on how remarkable and unexpectedly positive an outcome it would be if speeding in this fashion on busy roads while being pursued by police only results in injury to the perpetrator, rather than to any bystanders or the police who put their lives at risk to maintain some semblance of order.A cursory look at the bike shows it was set up for speeding. And a willingness to reach these speeds with that sort of traffic likely suggests it wasn’t his first time. Jail and bans is one form of punishment. Fortunately, the laws of physics enforce another. Newton’s laws of motion will always prevail.

    • Triangle Drifter says:

This guy endangered how many people & you hope he is OK???? I hope he has medical insurance. When he gets to court I hope the court gives him some more serious pain, right in the bank account.

I feel sorry for the owner of that bike for all of the time spent & agravation they will get put through. I feel sorry for the occupants of the car & the inconvenience they will go through to get their car repaired.

Nope, don’t feel sorry for the bike rider at all. He got swift justice. Will he learn from it? Probably not.

  4. Mom says:

Praying for him. Hope he ok. My heart goes out to his mom hopefully she does not look at these pics. Exactly no one knows the circumstances.

    • Animal Lover says:

I don’t like seeing anyone injured but he hit my friend’s car with my goddaughter in it. She is now injured and in the hospital. People like this guy kills innocent people. And the bike was allegedly stolen.

    • DH says:

This is every Bermudian mother’s nightmare…..I know it is one of mine. I for one well remember being just as ‘invincible’ when I was a teenager on my Peugeot 103.
Sending strength, hugs and support to his parents.

      • SweetSaltyOnion [[SSO]] says:

Well, don’t run from the cops…which is why this happened.

  5. Ladybug says:

@Animal lover the bike was not stolen. the indivisual that was riding this bike was pulling chase from the police and hit a car

  6. mmm says:

Looking at the accident scene and how wide-spread the debris is suggest a rate of high speed at the point of impact. Fortunately no life lost at this point, prayer-fully the injured folk are on the mend. Police will do their reports, and the man will appear in court. A very, very strong message need s to be sent to flagrant traffic offenders, and those who observe and are likely to do the same. I cant say much else, have to wait and see how the matter is dealt with in Court.

    • Square One says:

Unfortunately, there are no ‘strong messengers’ on the bench anymore. It is discharge the weakest or softest penalty there is with no concern given to victims and those impacted by all of the craziness going on. There are many severe penalties on the books for most offences, but slick-talking lawyers and buddy, buddy prosecutors combine to make victims suffer twice. Once at the hand of perpetrators and then again in court. ofeenders with three and four repeats are walking away smiling for most ofences now. All because we do not want to fill up westgate with “young black males’ who are the damn problem in this island. BS

  7. Oh,I see now says:

This week it’s Animal Lovers goddaughter next week it’s my goddaughter the week after that it’s who knows goddaughter wtf.Go in the hospital and drag his &$$ out of his room down to that little girls room so he can see what he really did. After that while still in hospital attire drag his &$$ to court and then jail.I hope he meets some of her godpas while he’s there.

  8. Zevon says:

Spare a thought for the innocent people hurt in this, not the idiot on the bike.

  9. WHAT CAN I SAY says:

People who ride their bikes like this and ends in this kind of result should have their license taken away from them for 5 years max. We don’t need people like this on the road, no respect for the rules nor for those who share the road with them when they ride like that. I see it every day idiots riding in and out of traffic inside outside the lanes, it doesn’t matter, I’m surprised their isn’t a death every day on our road. Hope the injuries and not serious and that it will end up being a lesson well learned.

  10. Um says:

If he was in a high speed persuit wouldn’t the police have been right there when it happened? And I don’t believe they were..

  11. MS says:

This idiot passed me as I was entering the South round about and then passed the car immediately in front of me with less than two feet between the car and the circle. My thought was ‘he is not going to make it through the night’. The cop passed me as I was exiting the round about and surprising to me turned around in the bus lay by just after and then headed west. I continued towards Tee Street where I stopped with no cop in sight. Therefore when the idiot crashed at Tee street he had no cop chasing him. Should also add that possibly this same idiot recklessly sped past me before Chapel on the tight corners with at least four cars in front of me and cars coming the other way. The cop that was following actually slowed down on the corners due to the cars he encountered. This idiot had absolutely no regard for anyone else but himself.
