Open Airways Presents At Boston Conference

On March 18, Open Airways was invited to speak at The Boston Children’s Hospital, Pediatric Asthma and Allergy Update for Primary Care Providers, marking “a great honour” for the group.

A spokesperson said, “Liz Boden and Tracy Nash presented ‘The Bermuda Model for Asthma Education’ The attendees were impressed with the work that we do in Bermuda and especially the fact that our hospital admissions for asthma have been reduced by 77% since our island wide program started in 1995. They also loved our Azmobiles.

“Debbie Barboza, who runs the KEMH Asthma Education Centre and Deann Trott, the Department of Health School Asthma nurse were sponsored by Open Airways to attend the Update as part of the Bermuda asthma team – they all wore their red Open Airways t-shirts, attracting a lot of attention from the other attendees.”

“Many great new contacts were made with pulmonologists, allergists and nurses specializing in asthma and allergy in Boston.

“Dr. Michael Young from Boston Children’s Hospital and Professor at Harvard Medical School suggested Open Airways publish The Bermuda Model.
