Health Council Release 2016/17 Corporate Plan
The Bermuda Health Council has released its Corporate Plan for fiscal year 2016-2017, saying that as they enters their 10th year, the Corporate Plan 2016/17 focuses on” four priority areas: care quality, regulation, finance and economics and accountability.”
Some of the objectives in these priority areas include to:
- Protect employees’ rights to have health insurance through their employer
- Enhance quality care, safety, and appropriate business practices for health service providers [businesses]
- Reduce patients’ exposure to potentially medically unnecessary tests
- Protect insured patients from being charged upfront for health services and ensure health professionals receive prompt reimbursement of electronic claims
- Improve electronic information exchange across the health system
- Manage and monitor health system complaints and queries to the Health Council
