Three Appear In UK Court After Kidnapping

April 6, 2016

Three people in the United Kingdom are to appear at court in May following an alleged kidnapping of a 20-year-old man in Bulwell, leading to “minor injuries” for the victim.

A story in the Nottingham Post said “Alshauntia Robinson, 22, and Tafari Smith, 26, both of Shakespeare Street, Leicester, and Denell Baker, 23, of Upperton Road, also Leicester, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court charged with the offence, which is said to have happened in Broad Eadow Road, Bulwell, on March 30.

“The offence is indictable-only, meaning magistrates’ powers are not sufficient to deal with the case. The proceedings were transferred to be heard at Nottingham Crown Court.”

“All three will appear before a judge there on May 3. A 20-year-old man received minor injuries during the incident and was treated at Leicester’s Royal Infirmary.

“A third man, aged 22, who was also arrested, has been release without further action. Smith and Baker were remanded in custody until the crown court date.

“Robinson was also remanded in custody but has a week to meet a bail direction, which means she could be granted bail if she complies with conditions including surrendering her passport to the police, not to apply for any further travel documents and finding a surety for £10,000.”
