Keith Robinson Invited Into TIAETL Academy
Keith Robinson, a Partner in Appleby’s Bermuda office, was recently invited to become a member of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law [TIAETL].
Membership is by invitation only and highly selective with members in forty one countries. The Academy bylaws limit membership to a very small percentage of the solicitors, lawyers, judges and professors practicing in the field of trusts and estates of any country.
In order to be selected to become a member, all candidates must have practiced law in the Academy’s areas of interest for at least ten years and must have distinguished themselves through lecturing, writing or participation in professional organisations. They must have also demonstrated a significant interest in the continuing development of the law of their own countries.
Mr. Robinson will be attending the TIAETL meeting this week taking place in Sydney, Australia 22 to 27 May.
“It is an honour to have been invited to join the International Academy given the world class membership of legal professionals from around the world and to represent Bermuda at The International Academy of Estate and Trust Law meeting in Sydney,” commented Mr. Robinson.
Mr. Robinson’s practice focuses on advising trustees on all aspects of Bermuda trust law and dealing with high value trust disputes and restructurings often with a multi-jurisdictional element. He has advised and represented trustees, beneficiaries and other fiduciaries.
Mr. Robinson has been involved in many of the major trust cases in Bermuda over the last number of years. He has written extensively, and spoken widely in Bermuda and internationally on Bermuda trust law.
The annual meeting of TIAETL is where the world’s elite in the field of estate planning, probate and trust law share and compare developments in the diverse legal systems of their home countries.
