Court: Man Admits Damaging Car Windshield

Appearing in Magistrates Court today [May 26], a 49-year-old man was ordered to pay restitution for  willfully damaging the windshield of a car, with the Court hearing he threw a beer bottle at it.

Mr Glen Fox told Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo that he was unemployed and that he could pay $50 a month as restitution to cover the cost of a car windshield that he admitted that he had damaged.

Mr Fox had earlier admitted that he had willfully and unlawfully damaged the car, with that damage said to be just over $1,100. Mr Fox also admitted that he had unlawfully assaulted the driver of the car.

The Crown Prosecutor told the Magistrate that around 5:30pm on 24th March, in St George’s, Mr Fox threw a beer bottle at the car which caused cracks in the car’s windshield.

Handing down his judgment on the charges, the Magistrate ordered Mr Fox to pay $50 a month to the Court in order to pay restitution for the damage; that he serve a period of 12 months on Probation and that he must not have any contact with the complainant.
