Open Airways To Celebrate World Asthma Week
Open Airways announced its plans to celebrate World Asthma Week, which is an annual event organized by the Global Initiative for Asthma to improve awareness and care throughout the world.
“Bermuda joins approximately 80 countries around the world to mark this day, each country will celebrate in a different way,” a spokesperson said.
“This year in Bermuda we have extended our event from one day to three to offer asthma education throughout the island, and we have added additional events in Somerset and St George’s.
“Our events for this year are as follows:
- Tuesday May 3, 11.30 am to 2.30 pm City Hall, Hamilton
- Wednesday 4 May, 9 am to 12 pm Somerset Marketplace
- Thursday 5 May, 12pm to 2pm King’s Square, St George’s
“This year’s theme is Do you have an Asthma Action Plan? Many studies have shown that asthma outcomes are consistently improved if personal asthma action plans are used.
“We encourage everyone who has asthma to attend one of our events to receive asthma education and learn about “Asthma Action Plans” and how they can obtain a personal asthma action plan from their doctors.
“Free spacers, microfiber cloths and pillows will be given away with asthma education [while supplies last]”
