BHW’s Jason Sukdeo: Over 500 People Flying In

June 15, 2016

Over 500 people are flying in for the Bermuda Heroes Weekend festivities, BHW President Jason Sukdeo said today, adding that BHW is “looking forward to providing quality entertainment for both those visitors and locals alike.”

Speaking at today’s press conference held in conjunction with the police and safety agencies, Mr Sukdeo said, “We have a number of visitors that are able to make the trip and fly in for us, we are looking at over five hundred folks flying in, confirmed visitors.

“We’re looking forward to providing quality entertainment for both those visitors and locals alike. We are asking everyone to be safe over the holiday season. Stay tuned to our website, we also have a BHW smartphone app which you can download, and we will put some information out there.

“We are expecting some inclement weather. The events won’t be canceled but they might – the plans might be adjusted slightly, so stay tuned for more information for that. Please everyone enjoy the holiday, but most importantly be safe.”

Mr Sukdeo’s comments at today’s press conference:

Bermuda Tourism Authority Chief Product & Experiences Development Officer Pat Phillip Fairn said, “We’re thrilled to hear BHW, Ltd is poised to see year-over-year growth in visitor arrivals for Bermuda Heroes Weekend. The Bermuda Tourism Authority is proud to have supported this bright and creative Bermuda Carnival idea over the past two years.

“The reason we created an investment process to support home-grown ideas back in 2014 was to help local entrepreneurs chase their passions, while attracting visitors to Bermuda in the process.

“The moment we reviewed the BHW application we knew this was something special and every time we have challenged these young entrepreneurs to introduce qualities that differentiate a Bermuda Carnival from all others, they have stepped up.

“More than that: they are attracting new visitors to the island, an objective that aligns perfectly with our overall tourism strategy,” she added.

“This weekend we trust everyone will have a great time celebrating the Caribbean influences of Bermuda’s heritage, and we encourage locals to welcome our visitors with that trademark Bermudian hospitality that keep people coming back again and again.”

    • claudio says:

The young man is helping enhance our product what does this have to do with politics?

So quick to be negative on someone doing positive things. Crabs in a bucket mentality – to the fullest. Its amazing to find that the people who tend to be negative about Carnival (and the persons involved) belong to a certain political party.

Big up Jason! Don’t worry about the haters – All the best and I will be on the road this weekend.

      Raaaeee!

      • Onion Juice says:

Um, he was a potential OBA candidate

        • OMG!!!!!!!! says:

Jason my advice is Governments change every 5 years.

Remain neutral my brother don’t get involved with either UBP/OBA or PLP. Both parties like to use PEOPLE of Color so in the lyrics of the song by Fadda Foxx KEEP DUCKING!!!!

        • Coaudio says:

Ummm…. He had this vision before he got involved in politics.

          • Onion Juice says:

I agree, but when U.B.P saw de influence of people that followed him, they capitalized on it.
Smart move though, like I said Political Pied Piper.

            • Onion Juice says:

Actually Fresh had de vision first, but we wont get into that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • De Dragon says:

Onion Juice, you are a real fool. Were you not hugged enough as a child? What exactly is your problem?

You should be thankful. His 500 visitors is 499 more than the Beyonce concert yet you never complained then. I wonder why.

Mr. Sukdeo, I met you many years ago (just briefly)when you were involved in something called Bermujam… or something like that. I remember a few things about you. You love Bermuda, your heritage, your extended family and music. You have taken what you love and done something positive with it. Don’t worry about closed minded fools like OnionJuice and others that have no life and spend all day checking Bernews every 2 minutes so they can be one of the first to praise all things PLP and post negative comments about anything related to the OBA or any idea not endorsed by the PLP.

    • aceboy says:

I like him. I have no idea who he is and haven’t read the article. But, if Onion Juice doesn’t like him that is a ringing endorsement.

      • Onion Juice says:

I didn’t say I didn’t like him, it’s good what he’s doing, just exposing de subliminal underlying factors.

    • Onion Juice says:

That’s why you have to use ya third eye.
      Bermudians are so blinded.

      • Jus' Wonderin' says:

Carnival – ‘Sex-fest’ or display of creativity?

Everyone is so excited about bringing “Carnival” to Bermuda. Be prepared for the consequences too…This is the sad part of Carnival that all these islands face every year: high rates of unwanted pregnancies (“Carnival babies”) and STD’s…yet no one in Bermuda seems to be concerned about that…
