Traffic Controls On Grey’s Bridge In Sandys

June 15, 2016

BELCO said they wish to advise the public that transmissions work is being carried out on Grey’s Bridge in Sandys from Wednesday, June 15th through Thursday, June 16th to allow BELCO crews to replace underwater cables.

“The replacing of these cables is essential to ensure security of supply for the America’s Cup. In addition, the work must be completed ahead of Government’s planned road resurfacing program, which will be undertaken in the West End in the coming weeks,” a spokesperson said.

“Traffic controls will be in place restricting traffic to one lane along the bridge for the duration of this project. Motorists and pedestrians are asked to proceed with caution while work is ongoing.

“BELCO apologizes for the inconvenience this may cause and thanks the public for their cooperation as this essential work is carried out over the next two days.”
