      • hmmm says:

Did the passengers not have seatbelts on?

Hope she is OK, and recovers.

Did you even read the article? Mercy, at least read the full article before you comment.

    • Sandra says:

Didn’t YOU not read the article above? ? If you did you wouldn’t have wrote your comment. See this is why I can’t take living in Bermuda…SOME people are so narrow minded and forever read a book by its cover…So sad…

      • OBSERVER says:

        To Sandra:
Stay.Narrow-minded people just have a limited point of view. It could be related to limited knowledge/ intelligence.
Do stay. Elsewhere is NO BETTER than here. There is no UTOPIA on this planet.

Not too much room up by Jews bay too spin a car…meaning a 360 or more…without slamming a wall or taking a dip in the water…SomeOne probably tried to hang on but pulled the lever instead and oops goes the weasels.

If i was a driving examiner…public transportation would be a booming business…sorry car dealers…money for all not just for you.

  5. Everett gibson says:

For a long time I have complained about the corner that is just before Jews bay when you are traveling east.I called a road engineer who promised to come and look as I explained to her that the camber of the road is wrong. She never showed up.After the serious accident at 3.14 am this morning I again tried to contact her.I have not received a call from either her or her boss.I also tried to contact minister Cannonier who it seems is off the island. His voicemail is also full.Try getting in contact with anyone in government it is virtually impossible.I think it is designed that way so you will give up.
about this frequent accident spot. One police officer told me this morning that even if he is responding to a call he slows down because he knows how dangerous it is.My front lawn got torn up again, however I don’t care about that as long as the young lady will be alright.Something has to be done and I will not rest until someone does his or her job for a change.

    • Codfish and Grits says:

People just need to do the speed limit….not saying that this was the case in this incident. But I have even seen busses, trucks not brake going around that corner. We all just need to slow down and take our time. Hope all injured recovers speedily.

    • Sad Truth says:

Agreed, that bend/corner is very dangerous when it’s wet!

      • Jim says:

And that is why you SLOW DOWN when the roads are wet..

People who complain about the road itself, have you ever seen the roads abroad on the sides of cliffs and mountains?? You blink and you’re a goner lol

      • James says:

The bends camber is irelevant at correct speeds. We are not driving around a banked nascar circuit!

    • D says:

I got into an accident in 2013 by 5 start island. On the way to the hospital, a bike was in the road and a guy was in the bushes and another man in the road. They were fine.

Then I believe a few months later another single vehicle accident where a man slid out and went into the trash pile buy the dock.

Most of our roads seem to be paved by the same people who take 6 months to erect a bus stop.

  6. mmm says:

Hope the lady will be okay. An easy 10,000 vehicles pass that area every da y with-out an accident…..so something else must be happening, possible driver error.

  7. SOLDIER - NO GUTS -NO GLORY says:

I just hope the young lady is ok. wishing her a speedy recovery.

  8. Lenny Avery says:

    Always wear a seatbelt

  9. Point boy says:

That bend has been the same for as long as the speed limit has. When your driving or riding you need to be alert. Especially when it’s past 3 in the AM.
I feel bad for all involved. Hope to hear good news on your recovery.

    • bermy born says:

Lack of sleep is also responsible for accidents too!!! If seat belts are there, then wear them!!!
