Colonial To Host Free Seminars On Life Insurance
One of the Island’s leading insurance companies is marking Life Insurance Awareness Month with a series of free seminars on the subject.
Colonial Life Assurance will host a series of lunch and learn seminars tomorrow [Sept 7], and September 14, 21 and 28 – all at their offices at Jardine House on Reid Street and all from 12.30pm to 1.30pm. A light lunch will be available at each session.
Sheldon Maybury, Colonial Life’s sales supervisor who will lead the workshops, said: “People tend not to understand the many uses of life insurance and we hope to be able to give them a new view of its importance.
“For instance, it is not just there to help provide for your loved ones after your death, it can also be used for things like a college fund, covering financial emergencies, mortgage protection as well as the most important thing: making sure your family is financially secure if you die suddenly?
“It can also be used as a source of capital to keep a business going if the owner suddenly dies or if that key person that all the clients like to see dies; it can also cover death taxes, collateral for a personal loan or to supplement your income when you retire.”
Tomorrow the subject of the seminar will be ‘The Importance of the Couple’s Dynamic’; on September 14 it will be ‘Mortgage Protection and Estate Planning’; on September 21 it will be ‘Is Life Insurance for Millennials?’ and on September 28 it will be about ‘Business Uses of Life Insurance – Key Man and Buy/Sell Funding’.
