Man Arrested After Paint Splashed On Cars
[Updated] Police have launched an investigation after paint was splashed on multiple cars in parking lots today, with the police saying “initial information suggests that three cars were vandalised at Dellwood Middle School, 11 cars at Elliot parking lot [on the corner of Brunswick Street and Dundonald Street] and four cars at Par-La-Ville parking lot.”
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service is aware of three incidents of willful damage that apparently took place sometime today [Thursday, September 1st] between 9am and 1pm.
“Details are limited at this time, but initial information suggests that three cars were vandalised at Dellwood Middle School, 11 cars at Elliot parking lot [on the corner of Brunswick Street and Dundonald Street] and four cars at Par-La-Ville parking lot – all with what is believed to be white paint.
“Police officers have attended the various scenes and inquiries are underway. Any witnesses to these incidents of willful damage or persons with information regarding the individual[s] responsible should contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
Update 3.54pm: A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service can confirm that a 41 year old St. George’s man has subsequently been arrested in connection with the willful damage of cars at Dellwood Middle School, Elliot parking lot and Par-La-Ville parking lot earlier today.
“Anyone whose car was affected by paint at the three mentioned locations is asked to attend Hamilton Police Station on Victoria Street to make an official report.”
If that’s white paint I need to re-paint the inside of my fridge.

This is disgraceful! If these people are caught and they turn out to be youngsters, they need more than the usual slap on the wrist. These parking lots are used by people who go out to work to pay their bills and buy their cars. Not that this makes any difference as this is pure vandalism. Hopefully the CCTV cameras at Dellwood have picked up something.

What pleasure do people get out of doing this…and in broad daylight no less… and of course our so called pristine CCTV system will reveal nothing or if it does it will reveal the top of someone’s head – no way to make an identification at all. The cars vandalized at Dellwood were done with white paint. Then blue and orange at the other two places.
This is so unfortunate on the teachers first day back to school and the other individuals whose cars were vandalized. This is not funny as many of the cars are or look new. I would be annoyed having to find my car in this state. Unbelievable!!!!
