Strange that a driver was shaken when they past him doing mach speed…….But maybe wet roads don’t see speed.
This accident took place just down from my house. I did not witness it and can’t comment on speed of riders. With wet roads today, anything can happen so I hope people are slowing down, and I obviously hope the riders are going to be ok. What I can say is this is the fourth serious accident in this area in past few months. Pulling out of our driveway has become increasingly difficult and dangerous due to crazy speed people are doing along Jew’s Bay. Last week I watched a car overtake 7 vehicles – still in disbelief at that. The overtaking and speeding has become ridiculous. Police often set up speed checks along Middle Road but every one warns every one else of police presence, so i’m not sure their efforts help. At least it slows people down.
Yep , I’ve seen a light van so overloaded that the tyres were ready to blow out overtake 3 cars on that stretch as well . Unbelievable to think that when I was a child my father would never overtake anyone on that stretch as in those days it was considered an unsafe stretch to do so . Now it’s a racetrack and just west of you people are overtaking on the hill/blind corners just east of the Southampton post office .
People on our roads are totally brain dead and completely out of control because they’ve been allowed to drive this way .
(still not a reference to this incident though as we don’t know what happened )
The senior officers always show up for the photo op.
The more things change……….
In wet weather which we have had most of the day, we need to operate our motor vehicles with greater care. I don,t know the cause of this collision, we hope the injured parties are gonna be okay.
I imagine that the cause was at least one of the riders driving like an idiot. Time we all took responsibility and called them out on it. No-one ever does.
Most are fine, thanks for asking.. Praying for one!
This is becoming such a frequent accident spot and the new railings don’t do much… I’ve seen so many people slide out, people need to slow down and a better solution needs to be found.
well my bus went up Fairmount Princess hill unto south road, the cruise ship passengers very happy to see the hotel…
Praying for the injured. Please be safe, everybody.
