Convening Of Parliament Set For Monday, Nov 7

Due to the repairs undertaken at the House of Assembly and the damage to the roof and other areas during Hurricane Nicole, the Throne Speech and Convening of Parliament has been delayed until Monday, 7th November, the Government said this evening.

“As a result of planned repairs undertaken recently at the House of Assembly, together with the extensive damage to the roof and other areas sustained during Hurricane Nicole, the Convening of Parliament has been delayed until Monday, 7th November, 2016 at 11:00am,” a spokesperson said,

“The Speech from the Throne will be read by Acting Governor Mrs. Ginny Ferson, from the grounds on the southern side of the Sessions House which is the parking lot on Reid Street adjacent to the old Magistrates’ Court building. The Convening of Parliament will be aired live on CITV [CableVision Channel 2 and WOW 102] and will be streamed on gov.bm.”

    A parking lot for the throne speech. That tells me a lot about who is actually running things. The OBA has a well oiled exclusive team for its factual accomplishments but that professionalism is not being felt at the grass roots levels.
