Police Investigation Into Shooting Continues

The investigation into the shooting on Thursday evening continues, with detectives interesting in speaking with anyone that has information on the incident, which resulted in a 24-year-old man sustaining a gunshot wound to his arm.

A police spokesperson said, “The investigation into a reported shooting that occurred around 9:30pm Thursday, October 13th on Court Street in Pembroke continues.

“The 24-year-old male injured in the incident apparently sustained a gunshot wound to his arm, which was not considered to be life threatening.

“Detectives are particularly interested in speaking with anyone that has relevant information regarding this incident.

“Members of the public that can assist this investigation should contact the Serious Crime Unit on 247-1739 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477.

      You have a right to be angry, but it would be placing a bandaid onto a much larger bleeding wound. We need to turn our anger to those who allow drugs and guns into the island and push it onto young men who have been left with very few choices to vent their own anger.

      Not condoning these actions but not fooled to believe that they are the sole problem either.
