Bermuda Sailors Begin Competing In Florida
The 2016 Orange Bowl International Youth Regatta hosted by the Coral Reef Yacht Club got underway in Florida with Bermuda sailors in action.
After three races on the first day in the Laser Radial Fleet, Benn Smith is in third with 10 points, this after winning the first race, Smith then finished 2nd in the second race, before closing out with a 7th place finish in the 3rd race.
Also flying the Bermuda Flag in the Fleet is Lachlan Stewart who is in 50th with 78 points and Luke Madeiros finds himself in 84th place with 141 points.
Sebastian Kempe is leading the Bermuda contingent in the Optimist Fleet with 37 points, Kempe is in 38th with two top ten finishes, Christian Ebbin is in 47th place with 45 points.
Genevieve Lau currently is holding down the 92nd position with 79 points, while Jack Roberts is in 161st place with 126 points, Skye Oliviera is in 170th with 130 points, Jacob Hodder is in 185th with 141 points. Cameron Pimentel is 213th with 157 points and Rachael Betschart is in 219th with 158 points.
Benjamin Redburn leads the Bermuda contingent in the Green Optimist Fleet, after four races Redburn is in 10th with 47 points, this after finishes of 13th, 17th, 12th and 5th, while Ethan Thompson is in 14th with 75 points and Jack Butterworth is in 32nd with 135 points.
