Community Education Classes Cancelled

The Community Education classes for the upcoming 2017 winter term have been cancelled “to allow for a restructuring” of the programme, the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs said this afternoon.

A spokesperson said, “The Department of Community and Cultural Affairs regrets to inform the public that Community Education classes for the upcoming 2017 winter term have been cancelled.

“This is to allow for a restructuring of the Community Education and Development Programme in order to further improve service to their loyal clients.

“We will be assessing our offerings, policies and procedures to ensure the programme is functioning at its peak. We apologize for any disappointment caused to those who look forward to these classes each term and can assure the public that we will return in the spring with a wide variety of  course offerings.

“The Community Education and Development Programme provides educational, social, and recreational activities and services for residents of Bermuda.”

“There are several  other organizations which the public can contact as alternative course providers during Community Education’s  brief hiatus in service delivery:

  • For Continuing Education,  persons can contact The Adult Education Centre, C.A.R.E., Computer Services & Learning Centre, Bermuda College – Professional And Careers Education [P.A.C.E. Division].
  • For Education and Computer Courses, members of the public can contact C.A.R.E. Computer Services/ C.A.R.E. Learning Centre, SocialLee Consulting, Professional And Careers Education [P.A.C.E. Division], Hart Education Consultants.
  • For Health, Fitness & Dance classes, persons can contact Fitness Clubs, Pembroke Community Centre, Bermuda Heart Foundation & CORE Heart Health Centre, Berkeley Cultural Centre, Bermuda Diabetes Association Resource Centre, Lotus Mind Body Spirit Wellness Centre, Department of Health, United Dance Productions, In Motion School of Dance, Jackson’s School of Dance.
  • For Leisure Activities, persons can contact Golf and Tennis Clubs, The National Sports Centre, WindReach Recreational Village, Bermuda National Library.
  • For Personal Development, persons can contact The Family Learning Centre, Mirrors Programme, S.C.A.R.S., Red Cross, Bermuda Economic Development Corporation [BEDC], Algoma’s School of Languages, Bermuda School of Music.
  • For Professional Development, persons can contact Bermuda Educator’s Council, Chamber of Commerce, Bermuda Employers Council, The Department of Workforce Development.
