Butterfield Places 3rd In Ironman Championships

Bermuda’s Tyler Butterfield raced to third place in the Ironman North American Championship held in Texas this weekend.

He was in fifth place after the swim with a time of 49:08, was in 6th place after the bike course having recorded a time of 4:15:20, and then made his move on the run to move up three spaces and hang on clocking a time of 2:49:00.

The 2017 Memorial Hermann Ironman North American Championship Texas triathlon saw more than 2,600 athletes representing 51 countries and 47 states start the race, which consisted of a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and 26.2-mile run.
