Motorcycle Rider Dies Following Collision

[Updated] The police have confirmed that a “fatal motorcycle crash” occurred on North Shore Road in Devonshire, near Bandroom Lane. Details are limited at this time, however we will update as able.

Update 11.41pm: The police said the motorcycle rider who died following this evening’s collision is believed to be a 41-year-old Pembroke man.

Update 12.08am: The police statement said, “Around 9:15pm Saturday, May 27th police and first responders were dispatched to a reported serious single vehicle motorcycle crash on North Shore Road in Devonshire near the junction with Bandroom Lane.

“The injured rider, believed to be a 41-year-old Pembroke man, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance where he was later pronounced dead.

“No further information regarding the deceased will be provided at this time until his next of kin have been notified.

“The investigation into this fatal collision, the fifth for 2017, is underway and police are appealing for any witnesses to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 247-1788.”
