Motorcycle & Truck Collision In Somerset

[Updated] A collision involving a truck and a motorcycle took place late this evening [May 27] on Somerset Road. Emergency personnel responded to the scene, and the road was blocked temporarily blocked while they attended to the scene. Details are limited at this time, however we will update as able.

Update May 28, 7.04pm: A police spokesperson said, “Around 11pm Saturday, May 27th police and first responders attended a reported two vehicle collision on Somerset Road in Sandys parish.

“It appears that a garbage truck and a motorcyclist collided as the truck driver attempted to turn into the Somerset MarketPlace parking area.

“The injured rider, believed to be a 33 year old Sandys parish man, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of his injuries, which initial information suggested were not life threatening.

“Inquiries continue and any witnesses are asked to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
