November 22, 2017

C.A.R.E. Learning Centre will be holding their 17th Annual Tag Day on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday 23rd November, to raise funds towards the school’s scholarship fund.

“Our theme is “Thank You for Caring” and taggers and students will be located throughout the City of Hamilton,” a spokesperson said.

“In celebrating 34 years of educating the community this month, C.A.R.E. continues to meet the needs of senior secondary school students with both academic and social challenges, non-traditional students continue to show an interest in attending day and evening classes to upgrade their skills and obtain their high school diploma.

“The students have shown tremendous progress this year and we are pleased to note during this year’s graduation ceremony several students under the age of eighteen years old graduated with honours enabling them to have credits applied to college or university enrolment.”

Programme Director, Mr. Butterfield of the learning centre is looking forward to the community’s financial support during these economic times and states that, “we cannot always build the future of our young, but we can build our youth for the future.”

“Part proceeds will be going toward the G.E.D. Tests at the Bermuda College for students who do not have the funds to take the tests and should not be hindered from doing the examination so that they can successfully pass and obtain a high school diploma.

“We are grateful for the the support of both volunteers and the general public for their generous support to the tag day. Donations can also be made to the Bank of Butterfeild – C.A.R.E. Computer Services account number 2000-6060-220230-100 or mail cheque to C.A.R.E. Learning Centre, P.O. Box HM 2806, Hamilton HM LX.”
