Wells & Burnley Set For A Trip To Huddersfield

December 29, 2017

Bermuda’s Nahki Wells and his Burnley team will play their final game of 2017 at Huddersfield Town on Saturday [Dec 30], with Wells new team set to face his old team.

After being transferred earlier this year from Huddersfield to Burnley, and then spending time recuperating from an injury, Wells made his Premier League debut on December 23rd, making his first ever appearance at the highest level of English professional football.

The appearance by Wells made him the third ever Bermudian to feature in the English Premier League and the first since 2003. Kyle Lightbourne at Coventry City and Shaun Goater at Manchester City were the other two to achieve this feat, and legendary footballer Clyde Best played in the old First Division with West Ham

Burnley will play their final game of 2017 at Huddersfield Town on Saturday, knowing they will see out the year in the Premier League’s top seven.

The team have not scaled such heights at this stage of a campaign since 1973 – having maintained their status last season as a top-flight club for the first time since the middle of the same decade.
