BFRS: Safety Tips When Using Heating Devices

In an effort to encourage fire safety during the cold winter season, the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service [BFRS] has released safety tips regarding the use of heating devices.

A BFRS spokesperson said, “Fire is fast! In less than 30 seconds a small flame can turn into a major fire. It only takes minutes for thick black smoke to fill a house or for it to be engulfed in flames.

“In an effort to encourage fire safety during the cold winter season, the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service has issued the following message in reference to space heating in the home.

“Be safe during the winter season and if you need additional information or have questions, contact them via email on FireProtection@gov.bm.”
