Football: Hornets, PHC, BAA, Paget, NVCC Win

The Bermuda Football Association’s FA Challenge Cup saw a total of 30 goals scored in the six games with the Dandy Town Hornets, PHC Zebras, BAA, Paget Lions, North Village Rams and Southampton Rangers all claiming victories.

Wolves 0 Dandy Town Hornets 5

At the Devonshire Rec. the Dandy Town Hornets defeated Wolves 5 – 0, scoring three goals in stoppage time. Angelo Simmons would get Dandy Town Hornets on the board in the 25th minute, he would double the lead in the 33rd, substitute Ian Coke would make it 3 – 0 in the 90th minute, before Oneko Lowe would make it 4 – 0 two minutes into stoppage time and Ernest Trott would close out the scoring 4 minutes into stoppage time.

Young Men Social Club 0 PHC Zebras 4

At the Police Field the PHC Zebras advanced with a 4 – 0 win over Young Men Social Club. After a scoreless first half the PHC Zebras would get goals from Cecoy Robinson, Marco Warren, Kushae Hypolite and Marquel Waldron.

Boulevard Blazers 0 BAA 1

At Lord’s in St. David’s, First Division outfit BAA defeated their Premier Division opponents Boulevard Blazers 1 – 0. The lone goal of this game came after a scoreless first half with Willie Clemons scoring in the 59th minute.

X-Road’s 1 Paget Lions 3

First Division League leaders Paget Lions advanced by defeating their Premier Division opponents X-Road’s 3 – 1 at the Garrison Field. The Paget Lions got goals from Tahjae Welsh, DeMarlo Curtis and Kenneth Durrant, while Khomeini Talbot scored the lone goal for X-Road’s.

North Village Rams 8 St. David’s 2

At the Bernard Park the North Village Rams defeated St. David’s 8 – 2 to have their name in the draw for the next round. Kieshen Bean led the way with four goals, while Lashon Dill scored twice, with Shayne Hollis and Pierre Smith both added a goal each. Justin Pitcher and James Pace scored a goal each for St. David’s.

Devonshire Cougars 0 [2] Southampton Rangers 0 [4]

At the Devonshire Rec. Premier Division team Devonshire Cougars would play the Southampton Rangers who are in the First Division to a scoreless draw, the teams would play and extra 30 minutes and still no goals leaving the game to be decided on kicks from the penalty mark. The Southampton Rangers go into the hat as they defeated the Devonshire Cougars 4 – 2 on penalties.
