Photos: Tiny Octopus Found On Side Of Lionfish
While emptying a bag of lionfish they caught while diving in the Watch Hill Park and John Smith’s Bay area, local divers found a tiny octopus clinging to the side of a lionfish.
In a post on social media, Weldon Wade said, “What a discovery! When freediving and culling lionfish we spear them and sometimes safely snip all the venomous spines off in-water effectively disarming the fish and they are put inside a mesh catch bag.
“What a surprise it was for @waterkid03 [Brandon Fleming] to find this octopus clinging to the side of a lionfish when emptying the bag! This tiny octopus had to have been in the mouth of one that we speared and got extremely lucky. What a save! It was released to live another day.

I think we have our storyline for the next sequel to Finding Nemo…
Lion fish can catch octopus?
They eat rare shrimp, baby lobster, parrot fish etc….really they will eat whatever fits in their mouths. They are big trouble.
It would’ve been nice to put in my tank.
