Berkeley Says ‘Thanks’ After VEI Potluck Dinner
The VEI Paradise Potluck Fundraiser hosted by the Berkeley Institute Virtual Enterprise International Class on March 2 is being called “an enormous success” after raising more than $1,200.
A spokesperson said, “On behalf of the Berkeley Institute Virtual Enterprise International Class, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all the teachers and community members who supported our VEI Paradise Potluck Fundraiser on March 2, 2018 despite the cold winter weather.”
“The fundraiser was an enormous success of over $1,200 being raised.
“The delicious food sponsored by Jamaican Grill [Baileys Bay], Cake Shop, Gunner’s Cafe, Quality Catering, Sensational Delights, Scoops, Sweet Escapes, Fish N’ Things, Yardie Kitchen and Casablanca was very much appreciated.”
Kayla Simpson, Vice President of Fundraising, said, “It is only with the continued support of the community that we are able to raise funds to assist in financing our business education trip to represent the Berkeley Institute and Bermuda at the 2018 Global Youth Business Summit on April 16-18 in New York.
“The money raised will be used for our presentation and materials for our marketing booth at the conference, student flights, lodging, meals and transportation and to pay for any educational extracurricular activities [museum, VEI Gala, theatrical productions, etc.].
“We have made a huge accomplishment as a team under the guidance and support of our Berkeley faculty teacher, Ms. Dawn Nichols Marshall and business mentors in the private sector. We are excited and motivated to continue working hard to prepare for this great challenge.”
