Asphalting: Queen Street To Be Closed Sunday

March 23, 2018

The City of Hamilton advises motorists and the general public that asphalting at the junction of Queen and Reid Streets will take place this Sunday, March 25th.

“Queen Street and Reid Street between Burnaby and Queen Streets will be closed to motor vehicles as of 6am on Sunday and will reopen once the work is complete, estimated at mid or late afternoon,” the City said.

“Queen Street between Front and Reid will close at 1am on Sunday for removal of the raised pedestrian crossing. Roadwork will be dependent on the weather.

“The City apologizes for the late notice of the closure [due in part to the recent inclement weather and contractor’s schedule] and for any inconvenience caused during this time and thanks the public for their continued patience while these important upgrades to the MS Amlin World Triathlon race course are carried out.”

Are you fools gonna complain when the roads are closed due to the Triathlon too. One day without heart attack food will probably do you good.
Oh, dont forget to blame the Government for this cold weather while ya at it.
      LOL

      • Brady says:

Reminds me of the a-hole who always complains about the rich mans sailboat race.

        • Toodle-oo says:

And as usual did you notice how he attaches a totally irrelevant post to the first comment for max exposure ?
I don’t interpret the first post to be a complaint , do you ?

      • Anbu says:

Sheesh oj. U really have no time for these “mickey mouse” events do u? And its you who are the “heart attack food” addicts lmao.

  2. Mike Hunt. says:

  3. Stevie says:

No inconvenience to store owners who open Sundays. Get like everyone else Bermuda. Do the work overnight. Oh we can’t do that will be the answer. Bermuda is way behind the times in doing the right stuff.

  4. Ben l says:

Where am I going to double park for my KFC?

  5. Excellent.
    Thank you, P.L.P.!!

    • Corporation juice says:

Thank you for what? Is this a plp initiative? Even if it was it would be us (taxpayers) paying for it.

    • Zevon says:

It’s for the triathlon. Yet again the PLP take credit for things they didn’t do.

Where is that bus you ordered? Does it take 8 weeks for you people to fill it with gas?

  6. wahoo juice says:

Can I still get to KFC?

  7. Stevie says:

Do you realise both bunion juice & burt appear & disappear at the same time?

  8. Tide watcher says:

So, when the COH blocks off the main artery for two weeks into Hamilton while your asphalt company takes all of two weeks to pave a 300 foot single lane, my question is, why couldn’t that be done over a few weekends? Don’t think the COH could plan their way out of a wet paper bag honestly. Traffic was backed up to Harbor Road. Very poorly planned.

    • Anbu says:

And it will be dug up again in about a month regardless. Cant make this stuff up. Remember the full repave of thenentire south shore road from paget lights to barnes corner? Months and months to complete, then dig it all up again for a trench less than a month after completion. Smh. Every single time
