Sick Crew Member Disembarks In Bermuda
The bulk carrier ‘Lanna Naree’ diverted to the island as a 45-year-old crew member was suffering from heart related complications and needed medical assistance.
A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “The medical evacuation of a 45-year-old Thai national was completed this morning after initial reports indicated that the male crew member was suffering from heart related complications.

“The 22641 GRT Bulk Carrier ‘Lanna Naree’, then 48 nm southeast of Bermuda, diverted to the island for patient disembarkation. Just after 11am, the patient was successfully landed ashore by pilot boat ‘St. George’, for onward transit by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
“This is the third medical evacuation by ship this week, which include Norwegian Jade [21st April] & Norwegian Escape [24th April].”
