Bull’s Head Parking Work ‘Nearing Completion’
As part of its “continued initiative to upgrade” the City’s main car parks, the City of Hamilton has advised that Bull’s Head Car Park is nearing completion.
The City said, “The final infrastructure at Bull’s Head is being installed and testing of the system will begin next week with an anticipated ‘go live’ date of Monday, April 16th for EasyPark Mobile users and those using the pay stations.
“A total of nine pay stations will be used in the lot – five on the ground floor, three on the second and one on the third. The public are advised that Bull’s Head will use a one-ticket system; it will operate using a single ticket for entry, payment and exit. The one-ticket system will be implemented in all of the City’s barrier lots over the coming weeks with Elliot Street Car Park expected to start on Monday, April 9th.
“Each floor in Bull’s Head has two Exit gates. This is in the event that should something go wrong there is always another exit on each floor for vehicles to get out. The lot has three Entry gates, two located at the main entrance on the first level and one on the ramp access by Pasta Basta, and three external Exits – Jackson Way, Bull’s Head Hill [by Masters onto Dundonald Street West] and after 1pm via the ramp access by Pasta Basta.
“Pricing at Bull’s Head will remain the same – $1 per hour with a maximum of $5 per visit. If leaving Bull’s Head within 15 minutes of entering, go directly to the exit and scan your Entry ticket at no cost. Pay stations or EasyPark Mobile must be used if time in the lot extends past 15 minutes. Payment is made at the end of your stay, not upon entry.
“Upon payment, motorists will have 30 minutes to leave the lot using their validated ticket. Those currently parking in the Bull’s Head lot are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the upgrades, changes and signage posted in the lot.
“The City will be offering monthly and annual parking permits in all of its long-term car parks using a swipe card for entry and exit, eliminating the need to visit a pay station or use EasyPark Mobile.
“The monthly charge ranges from $100.00 to $400.00 and the annual rate ranges from $1100.00 to $4400.00. Monthly permits will be valid from the first of the month till the last day of the month. No pro-rated permits will be issued.
“Monthly parking will begin in May and applications will be available on April 20th and can be obtained from the City offices in City Hall as well as on the City website – www.cityofhamilton.bm – under the City Permits heading.
“Applications may take up to 48 hours to process so motorists are advised to submit their application in plenty of time before the first of the month. There will be an option to apply online for the permit coming soon.
“The City apologizes for any inconvenience caused throughout the duration of the car park upgrades and thanks the public for its continued patience.”
